Starlike EVO Grout Installation Instructions

Installing Starlike EVO Grout is a straightforward process when you follow these step-by-step instructions. Whether you're working on a tile backsplash, shower wall, or floor, this guide will walk you through the process, ensuring that your grout application is smooth and professional. Starlike EVO is known for its durability and vibrant color options, making it a popular choice for tile installations.

Step 1: Preparing the Area

Before you begin grouting, make sure the tile surface is clean, dry, and free from any dust or debris. The joints between the tiles should also be free of any old grout or adhesive residue. Use a damp sponge to wipe down the surface and let it dry before you start.

Step 2: Mixing Starlike EVO Grout

Starlike EVO Grout comes in two components: the resin (Part A) and the hardener (Part B). Start by opening both components and pouring the hardener (Part B) into the container with the resin (Part A). Mix thoroughly using a low-speed mixer or a trowel, ensuring the two components are completely blended into a smooth, uniform mixture. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's guidelines for mixing ratios and time to get the best results. Once mixed, the grout should have a creamy consistency.

Step 3: Applying the Grout

Using a rubber float or grout trowel, apply the grout mixture to the surface of the tiles. Hold the float at a 45-degree angle and spread the grout across the joints, pressing it firmly into the spaces between the tiles. Work in small sections to ensure that the grout is applied evenly. Be sure to cover all joints fully and consistently.

For vertical surfaces like walls, start from the top and work your way down. On floors, begin at one side of the room and move toward the exit to avoid stepping on freshly applied grout.

Step 4: Removing Excess Grout

Once you’ve applied the grout, use the edge of your rubber float to remove any excess material from the surface of the tiles. Hold the float at a shallow angle and scrape off excess grout, moving diagonally across the tiles. This prevents the float from pulling grout out of the joints.

Step 5: Cleaning the Tiles

After the grout has been applied and the excess has been removed, it’s time to clean the tile surface. Wait about 15 to 20 minutes for the grout to set slightly before beginning the cleaning process. Use a damp sponge and gently wipe the surface of the tiles in a circular motion. Rinse the sponge frequently in clean water to avoid smearing grout residue. Take care not to remove grout from the joints during this step.

Step 6: Final Cleanup and Curing

Once the grout has fully cured (typically within 24 hours), perform a final cleanup to remove any grout haze left on the tile surface. Use a clean, dry cloth or a specialized grout haze remover if needed.

Step 7: Sealing (Optional)

Starlike EVO Grout is resistant to stains and water, so sealing is not typically necessary. However, if you’re using it in a high-traffic or high-moisture area, you may choose to apply a grout sealer for additional protection.

By following these instructions, you'll achieve a long-lasting and beautiful grout finish using Starlike EVO Grout from BELK Tile.
